Sven Deferme leaving aMACE
Sven Deferme is leaving aMACE on 01/01/2012. After more than 2 years at aMACE, Sven believes the time has come for a new adventure. He will remain active in the field of medical writing (e.g. publications, posters, study protocols, study reports, informed consents, CRFs and other clinical documents, theses, congress reports etc) and training (e.g. medical writing, statistics, protocol writing, study report writing).

In press: our study on the use of the PIL
In our aMAZINE, we already introduced our study 'First the PIL, than the cure'. This study on the use of the PIL was performed together with the VUB. This results of this study has been picked up by the press, with Knack & Het Apothekersblad being the most known. We also presented the results of this study at the annual meeting of Bachi and the FAMHP.

aMACE proudly announces the birth of the company's newsletter: aMAZINE. This newsletter will come out quarterly. The first edition will be a Dutch only version. You can read the first aMAZINE here.

A new force has joined the aMACE-team
aMACE is pleased to announce that Annemie Quanten has strengthened our team. Annemie is a hospital pharmacist by training (KULeuven). She joins our team as from September 15, 2010. She will primarily be responsible for performing and further developing the readability tests at aMACE.

Belgian PILs available online
The Belgian authorities have launched a webpage on which the patient information leaflets of all medicines for human use that are available in Belgium are posted. The website has a search function and contains the pdf-version of the leaflet. It is believed that this initiative will help people who lost the PIL of their medicine and those who are visually impaired. Use this link to go to the database.

Our managing director, Sven Deferme, has accepted the invitation to function as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He will be actively involved in the editorial and peer review process of the journal. He will hold this position for a period of 3 years starting on January 1, 2010.
